SpaceBall Avenger win95 software
After many years searching I was finally able to find a SpaceBall Avenger unused, and in the original box. It came complete with all of the papers, manual, and drivers, but it must have been originally sold in tandem with the SpaceOrb360 since it came with the same CD that the Orb shipped with. The ...

I second that! You are both awesome! I can't describe how much it means to me personally. The Orb would be dead if it were not for your efforts. Thank you both so much.

Don't feel bad. These things take time and effort, and life always finds a way to interrupt. I have a few projects here that I had big plans for, and they never saw the light of day. I designed and built an gated H-Shifter for racing sims that is all steel construction with 6 forward gear positions ...

Re: It lives again... almost...
Vic,
I really don't believe it is a voltage problem. As we have discussed in the past, I have had this problem with the Orbshield/Arduino and I feel that it has to do with some code that is not getting written to the Arduino, or data corruption of some sort. Just as a reminder--One out of a thousand ...

Re: It lives again... almost...
Very interesting indeed. I can think of many uses for a Joystick Integrator in hardware form. I've never looked into how the Ball Sensor actually works. Is it an analog device? I imagine it using Hall Effect Sensors or something along that line. The Bluetooth idea is totally unnecessary. I just was ...

Crazy! Small world!
Side note: I don't know how I missed the Kickstarter for Overload, and didn't read anything about it, but I'm up to speed now. Seems the original team that made Descent 1-3 are back with a new 6dof game. I've been playing the Playable Teaser for it and must say it is out of this ...

Re: It lives again... almost...
Thanks :) Okay, SORRY for the delays, I think we're at a final board model now and I just need some parts to make the next three. This is a somewhat simplified version; I got rid of several components to simplify the build and get price a little lower, with the catch that it must be connected via ...

Re: 'bout damn time.
Look how small it is! That is going to fit in the Orb chassis nicely. I can't help but notice the Packard Bell logo on your Orb. I purchased a dozen of them online in 1999 (if I remember correctly) when Packard Bell was dumping the line, and after Spacetec was sold off . I gave a few away to friends ...

Awesome!! Can't wait! I'm excited about building the wireless BlueTooth Spaceorb we discussed. I'll make a guide and post it here if it all works out well. I was thinking that there may be resurgence of interest in these devices with all the happenings in the VR controller world. I was playing a VR ...

Re: Where can I buy a pre-assembled OrbShield?
Just buy the kit and have a friend with some soldering skills assemble it for you. Its an easy 10 minute job. The tricky part is on the software side of things but only if you want to tweak the sensitivity and functionality. Give it a go, you won't be sorry.

Re: Orbshield Not Working
Just a shot-in-the-dark. I was having troubles with my orbshield and discovered the problem was the #1 dip switch was intermittently losing contact. I checked it with a multimeter and sure enough there was no continuity in the on position. Swapped out the dip package and its good as ever.

Re: Skyrim Spaceball 4000 FLX ,Microsoft Trackball Explorer
I was tinkering around with skyrim and my 4000 but Skyrim had the limitation of not being able to assign analog axises to movement ( forward, backward, Strafe L&R ). Did they fix that? I was able to get analog movement using a xbox360 controller emulator which let me use analog movement but at that ...

Re: The ultimate orb solution, at last.
No hurry Vic. Here is the situation. I have a 3DCONNECTION 4000FLX, and a 3DCONNECTION 5000. The 4000FLX works perfect. I edited the initialization string (SpaceBall5000), and flipped both switches to the on position. I get 2 beeps from the 5000 when it powers up (no beeps when pressing button 1 ...
